Chiringuito 'La Loma'
About This Spot
Arriving at Chiringuito ‘La Loma’ feels like stepping into a pause by the sea — where the rhythm slows down just enough to soak in the gentle hum of waves and the soft glow of late afternoon light. Nestled right on Playa de la Barrosa, this beachside restaurant effortlessly blends the ease of a casual local favorite with moments of quiet contemplation, all set against the wide expanse of sand and surf.
As the sun dips lower, the atmosphere unfolds into a warm, relaxed gathering place where the sea breeze carries hints of salt, spice, and summer. The pace here is unhurried, inviting visitors to settle in on sunbeds or at a shaded table, watching time slip by with a cool drink in hand. The comfortable mix of familiar beach chatter and attentive, friendly service helps create a welcoming space that feels both grounded and a little special.
The food echoes this balance between simplicity and a touch of local flair. Freshness is front and center — from platefuls of just-caught coquinas and fried boquerones to vibrant salads dressed with seasonal fruits and tender smoked salmon. The kitchen honors the flavors of Cádiz with delicacies like spicy red curry mussels and arroz caldoso made with carabineros, each dish offering a glimpse into coastal tradition without pretense. Whether paired with a chilled Cerveza Alhambra or a glass from their thoughtfully curated wine selection, the meal here invites lingering conversations and shared moments under an open sky.
For those who come seeking more than just food, the sunset views alone create a compelling reason to stay late. It’s a place where natural beauty and simple pleasures converge quietly — perfect for savoring a peaceful evening after a day spent exploring the sandy stretches of Chiclana de la Frontera.

Very good location! We enjoyed the evening with a great sunset.

The place is great. The food is delicious and the selection is broad. The wine selection is also big and the prices are pretty good: on average it is 15-20 euros per bottle. Another great thing about this place are the sun beds. There are single sunbeds available for 15 euros per two sunbeds as well as 46 euros for a big sunbed for several people and the bottle of wine for free. The only thing is that it would be a good idea to reserve in advance or come early in the morning.

A stunning location. Was here for a wedding, the drinks were great the food was ok but nothing special. Very instagrammable spot.

Have never eaten here as they won’t seem to let me. Came last year to ask if the kitchen was open they said no, came back this year to ask if the kitchen was open and got told no because they do dinner at 9pm. I assume the food is good but the hostess on both occasions has been very bad. I will give them 5 stars as don’t want to hurt a business rating as I’ve never eaten there but just some feedback for a very poor service attitude at the door

This is our 4th year coming to this beach and renting the lounge chairs outside of La Loma, and every time we are so pleased with the place. It has a perfect oceanside location with friendly staff, great cocktails, and very reasonable prices for lounge area rentals (€25/day for two lounge chairs and an umbrella). We have always been treated with welcome and friendliness by the staff, which is what brings us back. Particularly the nice lady at reception always greeted us by name with a genuine smile and warmth (sorry I didn't get your name!), and Paco was so sweet and kind to chat with us whenever he saw us drop in for refreshments. Thank you for the wonderful atmosphere and for making our holidays special!

It’s a beautiful place with nice view. Friendly staff. There are many chaise longues and beds to rent. The restaurant is also quite good, but it’s not open all the time.

Delightful and very picturesque chiringuito on the edge of the sea at La Loma beach below the Riu and royal hideaway hotels . Offers a good food selection of tapas and main meals and has a light and airy main restaurant and a second area facing the beachfront with views of the sea framed by parasols which give a feel of the bahamas . Coffee, drinks and cocktails etc are also served It's well shaded and comfortable even on hot sunny days. During busy (meal) times if you're not eating you may have to wait for a drinks table in the bar area. Prices are reasonable considering the fantastic location.
